Mulla Nasruddin is considered to be a famous Saint with his small funny stories within muslim world. He gives messages to people from truth (Haqq)while explaining the matters with a sense of humor. I enjoy listening to the stories about him as they are alternative to the meaningless jokes of today’s ignorant generation. Many people do not know that he was a walee (a muslim saint).

There are many stories about him collected and translated to English by some muslim authors e.g Idries Shah. Here I translated a nice one to English as below:

Mulla Nasrudin was walking from his villiage  to the city. He got tired of walking and he decided to find a place to have rest.  As He was passing by a pumpkin field, he saw a big walnut tree and he lay down under the walnut tree to have rest. While he was lying, he started to gaze at the pumpkins in the field and the walnuts on the tree.

He started to ponder :
“Oh Allah, there is no questioning your power , but it is very strange that you create a huge pumpkin from a thin stem on the ground and a tiny walnut from a big branch on a high tree. Why did you make it this way? “
When he was pondering, he fell a sleep. While he was sleeping, a walnut fell on to his head from the tree. He woke up with a pain in his head. A bump had appeared on his head. When he saw that it was the walnut which caused this he said:
“Oh Allah, forgive me , you know best. What would be my condition if the pumpkins were on this tree and the walnuts were on the ground?…”
There are a lot of people who complain about many things in life e.g.Why does God allow disasters? Why is the weather so hot, so cold?
Some people even does not like the shape of their own body and attempt to change it by using plastic surgery. Many people do not thank(shukur) to Allah for what they have.
There are a lot of systems on the earth. Everything works within a balance in perfect way. We do not see rain drops touching each other in the air and falling on us as waterfall or snow becoming a huge mountain in the air before reaching to the earth, do we? Do we see the sun approaching to earth and burning all of us or moon hitting earth or sun?
Anybody questioning the mechanism in the universe should look at his own body and start questioning his own body first.
Do We say to our white cells why are you attacking the harmfull bacterias getting in to my system?”  We don’t, do We? Because they are protecting us. Do we ask our selves why I have lungs in my body and not outside of my body? We know that it would not work outside of the body. If Allah willed it would work there as well but his rahmat(mercy) sieges everything because Er-Rahman created everything with his rahmat(mercy).
We don’t even know the millions of things functioning in our body(micro universe) without us feeling and without our control when we are at sleep and awake , walking and sitting, eating and drinking, breathing and crying.
Although all the things that we do to disturb our balance, our body is defending it’s self against millions of situations perfectly. We don’t even know what bacteria is hidden in our trousers or a virus in hiding our bodies. Is it us who are holding the cells of our body together as an organism, or Allah? Are We aware of trillions of cells working within our body and commands going from our brains to them  while we are living? Are We in control of them? No! Of course not!
We are not even in control of our own system and could not even solve our own self yet, but we start questioning the designs of Allah? We could not solve micro yet, but we are pointing out the things in macro? We are complaining about anything we dislike or any thing disturbing us.
When are we going to read and think carefully about the ayats(verses) below and cut complaining about everything?…

Qur’an 6/73:” It is He who created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): the day He saith, “Be,” behold! it is. His word is the truth. His will be the dominion the day the trumpet will be blown. He knoweth the unseen as well as that which is open. For He is the Wise, well acquainted (with all things).”
Qur’an 67/3 :” He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw?”.
67/4 :”Then turn back the eye again and again; your look shall ‘~ come back to you confused while it is fatigued.”
