"Be like a bird. Nest yourself on the heart egg throughout the night. From this egg such beauties manifest. ‘Sajda’ is where the Lover(Ashik) meets his/her Beloved (Mashuk). In sajda, the suffering/hardship(JaFa) is turned in to joy/pleasure(SaFa); and the darknesses are filled with lights. The heart of the person whose eye is fixed on the floor, rises in to heaven." [Sabri Tandoğan, Gönül Sohbetleri 1]

"Kuş gibi ol. Bütün gece gönül yumurtası üstüne yat. Bu yumurtadan nice güzellikler zuhura gelir. Âşıkın maşukuna kavuştuğu yerdir secde. Secdede cefa sefaya çevrilir; karanlıklar ışıkla dolar. Gözü yerde olanın gönlü âsumana çıkar." [Sabri Tandoğan, Gönül Sohbetleri 1, Olgun İnsan]

"The believer(Mu’min) is the mirror of the believer(mu’min). Human beings need to be pure in both body and spirit to be able to see each other. And then, Beautiful Name(Asma),“Al-Mumin”[*] manifests (makes tajalli). Looking is different from seeing. Everyone looks but can not see. It is not the eye seeing but the heart. It is necessary to think for years about the word , “The MAN is my secret(sirr) and I am his secret …” (AL-INSANU sirri wa ana sirruhū). Look at the faces of the people with Love ,(and) your crimes are forgiven. The peace is the sister of Love. Defeat the evil deed by good deed."[/color] [Sabri Tandoğan, Gönül Sohbetleri 1, Olgun İnsan]

[*] AL- MU'MINU (J.J) [Qur’an Ref: 59/23] (insanī)( اَلْمُؤْمِنُ) : the Inspirer of Faith[/color]

"Lets not consider the days on which we have not made effort to learn and educate ourselves as a part of our lifespan. Whatever pot it is coming from, make effort to get the wisdom and knowledge. Main reason for all evilness, tribulations, and depressions is the ignorance(Jahalat). One of the biggest favours is to be able to give service in someone’s development and spiritual maturity/completion(tekamul), and to be able to give him spiritual happiness and peace."

“In the rose seed, fragrance of the rose, colour of the rose and the unreachable beauty of the rose are hidden, but it is necessary that there must be convenient conditions ready so that the beauties hiding within it will appear and become manifest(Tajalli). Like earth, like water, like the Sun... There are some beauties and nobilities hidden within the human being. In a Kudthi Hadith, ( Allah j.j says): “I have never been as much apparent and manifest(Zahir) in anything as in humanbeing.” If the man reads this by hearing, thinking, feeling and shuddering, then some states(hȃl) are experienced in the world of heart. Man is an exalted being. The best one amongst the people is the one being most beneficial(helpful) to the people.”

"There is a beauty hidden under every material and creature looking bad and ugly. One needs to strive to see this. LOVE is the greatest asset. A shanty which is full of LOVE is more valuable than a palace that is far from LOVE. Mawlana says “Copper turns in to gold by LOVE”.

The most poor and pitiful people, are those who live far from LOVE , and those who don’t feel the LOVE within their hearts. What enlightens the darknesses and illuminates the faces of the people is LOVE, friendship, and the feeling of brother/sisterhood. There is no evil and ugly human being in the life. There is a human being who is not able to unearth the beauty and nobility within himself.

Knowing and recognizing your self, and putting your life in order in accordance with the aim of the creation and existence, is the biggest virtue. Allah
(God) is enough for His servant(abd). Lets not forget that secrets(sirr) of the universe and human are reachable only by the love and enthusiasm of continuous , deep and systematic thinking and understanding. What makes man happy is to be able to establish an order, a beauty and a harmony in his inner world.

Yunus [*][/color] asks in one of his poems: “What does grow in a stone heart?” . Gentleness and beauty, pureness, adab(refined manners, proper conduct, self-discipline, respect and courtesy), hayâ(modesty/bashfulness) and discretion take the people to the reality faster. It is an inevitable consequence for a human being loosing his beauty, to be in distress, anxiety, and to see his life and himself as an ordinary mound of matter. It is necessary to get in touch with the infinity, eternity and the beauty who is manifesting in thousand and one ways and existing at every moment over and over again, in order to free your self from shallowness, vulgarity and superficiality. These works can not be solved by reading silly magazines/newspapers, watching foolish tv programmes, and gossiping. Those who are unaware of the reality and beauty, will stray onto the wrong paths willingly or unwillingly. Prison is within the people’s own selves in this age. It is necessary to know how to escape.” [Sabri Tandoğan, Gönül Sohbetleri 1, Mükemmellik Duygusu]

[*][/color] Yunus Emre(k.s) is a friend of Allah(God) who lived in Anatolia in 13th century. Some of his poems have reached to us today and many of his works are missing. He is the one whom Rumi (k.s) defined “Whatever spiritual station(maqam) I climb to, I see this Yoruk boy there”.

‘Adab’, is the appearance of the mind from outside. ‘Adab’ is what sepaparates humans from animals. Adab is discretion, elegance(zarafet) and gentleness(efendilik). What makes people say gentleman and lady to a human is his/her ‘adab’. If we had said ‘adab’ equals ‘life’, we wouldn’t have exaggerated. Showing reverence to those who are older than you is not enough, human being having adab is the one who shows reverence to everything. Because it is an obligatory state. Otherwise, some sort of unpleasing and unpalatable situations arise. What is important is to act with same elegance , discretion and respect towards both our elders and children. A friend of Allah, Yunus Emre [*] says “The eye seeing the Truth(Haqq) is the eye”. What is important is to be able to see (mushahada) Truth in everybody, every place and every thing. [/color] [Sabri Tandoğan, Gönül Sohbetleri 1, Edep]

[*] Yunus Emre(k.s) is a friend of Allah(God) who lived in Anatolia in 13th century. Some of his poems have reached to us today and many of his works are missing. He is the one whom Rumi (k.s) defined “Whatever spiritual station(maqam) I climb to, I see this Yoruk boy there”. [/color]

Turkish Original : Edep, aklın dıştan görünüşüdür. Edep, insanı hayvandan ayıran farktır. Edep inceliktir, zarafettir, efendiliktir.
