ZAWK 3389
To my AYN(ـعـ ) withIN me..
Do not release our secret in to water!
Look ! if It dissolves, you may not find it then!
It is difficult in this life, O my mirror(AYNa) !
To live like a silverless[*] glass !
If you tie your four ends to the horizon of hope, and throw.
You will undress your soykas[*]!
Desert of Suffering is completely nude!…

GLOSSARY
AYN(ـعـ ): This refers to letter ‘AYN (ـعـ )’ in Arabic. AYNa in Turkish language means ‘MIRROR’. ‘AYaN-i Sabita’ used in Tasawwuf refers to immutable essence.
Silverless: Term that Kulihvani uses in place of ‘silverless’ in here is “SIRRsız” in Turkish. Sirr means secret in Turkish. When you silver the glass to make it mirror, you put a silver backing behind it so that it will give you a reflection causing duality. Backing of the mirror is also called “SIR:Secret” in Turkish language… ‘Sirrsiz’ means ‘Secretless’ but in English ‘silverless’ is the best word to use. However knowing this little detail is vital for understanding this ‘zawk’.
Soyka: Pronounced as ‘soika’ in Turkish. This is an ancient word meaning the clothes which are undressed last, just before putting the shroud on a dead body.
