Wa Alaikum Salaam Brother Hilmi,
Please tell you wife that I share her feelings sincerely. We can not change the past and we live the moment only in this life. Every moment is a new moment from our Rabb(lord). In every moment, we have to make a new choice. Sometimes we fail in our decisions and sometimes we take the right decision. We suffer the consequences of our choices and are responsible for ourown actions in this life as we were given mind.

We can not change the past but,We can warn the people around us at this new moment and we can hope the best for people for the future inshaallah.

Please tell her visit her parents in her own heart and say prayers for them. Our beloved ones are burried in our hearts...

Lastday I saw my grandfather in my dream. He had passed away 8 years a go. I hugged him and said I missed you granddad and I wept in his arms. I sometimes see him praying with me in the mosques in my dream. When he had passed away, I was not able to join his funeral as I was outside of the country. I felt deeply sorry for not being there at that time. A few months after, I had missed him so much. In one morning, I saw him in my dream, but I was in the dream state not understanding that I was in the dream. All of a sudden I got concious in the dream. Everything was crystal clear, just like being in another dimension. He looked in to my eyes, his eyes were blue just as I remebered him. I said "Dede(granddad), we are in the dream, he was looking in to my eyes. I gave him a hug." It lasted for only 15 seconds. After that period I kept seeing him for a year in different months and prayed for him. I said to my self, I will ask him something next time I see him in my dream. One morning I saw him again, when I had a lucid state I asked him "granddad, is that really you or am I imagining you in my concious? " He answered "Son, you can see but you can't touch!"...

There is a way within the heart of humanbeing reaching our belowed ones if Allah wishes. When we pray, our prayers go to them. There are a lot of hadiths of Rasulullah SAW for these issues. At least we can be a believer and pray for their souls and we can try hard to change our own selves and gain the morality of Allah by following His Messenger(Rasul).

But Today's lost generation tell their children that "there is nothing, you die and disappear". They cut the hopes of people and push them in to darkness.

Allah says in the Qur'an [Hijr /56:]: He said: and who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?

Their mentality brings emptiness to this life. Everything becomes meaningless so as living. We have a book from Allah, and the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad as an evidence in our hands. What do the people denying afterlife have in their hands?

Allah is stating in the Qur'an [Al-Kasas /50]:
But if they hearken not to thee, know that they only follow their own lusts: and who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts: and who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, devoid of guidance from Allah? for Allah guides not people given to wrong doing.

Qur'an [Al-Vakia]:
52/82.And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false?
52/83.Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying)
52/84.And ye are at that moment looking.
52/85.And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not.
52/86.Then why do ye not, if you are exempt from (future) account,
52/87.Call back the soul, if ye are true (in your claim of Independence)?

Allah knows best...

With Salaam and our Prayers

Salaamun alaykum brother, i have read this article to my wife she couldn't stop her tears.we've lost her parents couple of years ago.they were cremated as they made their will.my wife said she could give anything tn her parents had a grave so that she could go to visit them.i didnt have to spend long time with my parents in laws so i was unaware about their will.as a muslim i didn't think any other way than burial.the reason they wanted to be cremated was one of the reasons you mentioned in your article.they didn't want to make their children and relatives they have to visit their graves.what i am trying to say is to be buried, have a grave maybe not right maybe you have to do it for people who love you. On the other hand as you also mentioned cremation is not environment friendly.how can you worry ahout your carbon footprint while you want to be cremated?thanks for brillant article.
