EX-AMEEN-ATION:
A friend of mine forwarded a video clip to me recently. Firstly I laughed at that video then it reminded me a truth of this life. You can watch it on the link above. We made a chat about it in facebook and I wanted to carry our small talk here to share it with you.
What is it about:
A lipstick company wants a young lady to kiss test their product on a couple of male models. Of course there is a funny twist. They take a girl inside and ask her that if she would like to kiss the two handsome male models sitting on the chairs. She says “yes” then they put an eye cover on the girl and replace the male models with two chimps which are well trained to kiss a person on the lips.
After the kiss they open the eye cover and the girls get shocked.
You know, in Imam-i Gazali (K.S)’ book “Kimya-i Saadat: Alchemy of Happiness” , He gives an example about the grave torment. As far as I remember, a prince drinks so much alcohol and gets drunk and finds himself with a beatiful woman in a soft bed then kisses that beatiful lady and makes love with her until the morning. When He comes to himself in the morning, he finds himself in a cemetery. The soft bed which he was lying on was a grave and the lady he was kissing was a rotten corpse lying between his arms. When the King(sultan) and the people of the palace find him at this state in the cemetery, he feels ashamed. That condition gives a grave torment to that person at that moment he says. So this world is that lady now which people kisses it by their attacment to it so much and forget the life afterworld and ALLAH(God). When they die and wake up to the reality the following verse will be said to them:
Qur’an [Al-Qaf 50/22]:
لَقَدْ كُنتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَاءكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ
“Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day! ”
We need to take those masks(veils) of our sight. There are thousands of them which we need to take off one by one before the death because the people who are facing that reality will not laugh as this girl does. In every step to the Truth(Al-Hakk) you take one off. May Allah help us all.
I don’t know if you have ever heard but Hz.Sultan Valad(K.S) is Jalaladdin-i Rumi(K.S)’son. I had translated a section from his book called Maarif, related to the staff of Moses (PBUH). You can all read it in the following link you will see some links to this subject, if you ponder over it a bit :

yeah thats the reality of life, often we think we have only 60-70 years of life and forget the eternal life ahead. infact this 60 to 70 years life is an examination period between two deaths, the first which we have already gone through while we were in aalam e arwah(the world of spirits) and second which is the death of this world’s life.we must not forget the eternal life.

Qur’an [21/35]:
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
“Every soul shall have a taste of death: and we test you by evil and by good by way of trial. To us must be return.”
The term “taste of death” is used in Qur’an. Qur’an does not say you will die in this verse, but uses the term “taste of death”. That point is to show the humanbeing that the death is not “the end”.Brother Gul again used a term “examination period”. Lets have a look at this term “examination”. We have a different way of perceiving the words. So lets not offend the etymologists.
Ex: is used for the things which come out from an origin (O-Region). Coming forth. For instance Exit, Exhaust, Exhale, Extract, Existence etc.
Amin: In arabic Amin is similar to “Ameen” in English. Meaning is same as well. It is said after dua(prayer). Perhaps the term ,“Iman”:faith, also comes from this word.
Ion: it is added towards the end of the words it makes the term, “NouN”.
So Ex-Ameen-ation of this life is to extract the Ameen from one’s essence. How do you extract Ameen?
By showing Iman(faith) to Allah and His Rasul(Messenger)…
By following the religious duties and practices defined by Allah and His Rasul(Messenger of Allah)!…
By adhering to Sunnatullah!…
In a hadith narrated from Prophet Muhammad (SAW):
“If any one of you strikes (another), he should avoid the face, for Allah created Adam in His image. “
This means Allah gave His beatiful names to the essence of Adam.
Qur’an [2/31]:
وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الأَسْمَاء كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى الْمَلاَئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنبِئُونِي بِأَسْمَاء هَـؤُلاء إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
“And He taught Adam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: “Tell Me the names of these if ye are right.”
Real prayer(SALAH) is to extract( bringing them from batin “inner” to zaheer“outer”) the divine names and be coloured with the names of ALLAH (Sibghatullah). Being coloured with the morality(ahlaqullah) of Allah. Rasulullah SAW was the best in representing Ahlaqullah.
Qur’an [2/138]:
صِبْغَةَ اللّهِ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللّهِ صِبْغَةً وَنَحْنُ لَهُ عَابِدونَ
“(We take our) colour from Allah, and who is better than Allah at colouring. We are His worshippers.”
A person showing mercy to another one will be extracting the meaning of the name “Ar-Raheem: Most compassionate, gracefull” from his essence in to outer by doing this action. From outside you see a mother showing compassion for her baby but inside it is the name of Allah “Ar-Raheem” manifesting through the mother. This is like someone spending on the way of ALLAH by using the wealth which was put in to his own essence by Allah. But be careful ! That wealth belongs to Allah but given to you to spend. Allah is the owner of everything!
Qur’an [2/272]:
لَّيْسَ عَلَيْكَ هُدَاهُمْ وَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاء وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلأنفُسِكُمْ وَمَا تُنفِقُونَ إِلاَّ ابْتِغَاء وَجْهِ اللّهِ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تُظْلَمُونَ
“The guiding of them is not thy duty (O Muhammad), but Allah guideth whom He will. And whatsoever good thing ye spend, it is for yourselves, when ye spend not save in search of Allah’s countenance; and whatsoever good thing ye spend, it will be repaid to you in full, and ye will not be wronged.”
Qur’an [3/115]:
وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوْهُ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ
“And whatever good they do, they will not be denied the meed thereof. Allah is Aware of those who ward off (evil).”
The answers to the questions of this examination is double sided. If one commits evil , he commits it by using the divine names as well. No creation can get out of the meanings of divine names(Asma ul Husna).
Devil(Shaytan) uses the divine names ” Al-Qahharu: the Crusher”, “Ad-Darru: The creator of the harmfull” etc. so people who commit evil activities in this Ex-amin-ation will say ameen to the evil activities they commit, while extracting the relevant names and spending them in their disadvantage. Because Allah creates the evil but holds the person committing evil responsible for it.
Qur’an [17/11]:
وَيَدْعُ الإِنسَانُ بِالشَّرِّ دُعَاءهُ بِالْخَيْرِ وَكَانَ الإِنسَانُ عَجُولاً
“Man prayeth for evil as he prayeth for good; for man was ever hasty”
Lets use our precious time in this life while we still have time to do good and give this EX-AMeeN-ation by commiting good(Hayr) actions and protecting ourselves from the evil for the sake of Allah.

IN THIS WAY, WHEN YOU EAT THE GRAIN, YOU FALL IN TO THE TRAP LIKE THE BIRD EATING A GRAIN FALLS INTO.” Sultan Valad, the book of Maarif.
