HAVE YOU SURRENDERED YOUR THIEF TO GOD?
One day a thief broke in to a house in the middle of a desert. The thief kept searching for valuable things in the place but this place was a poor(faqir) woman’s house. That muslim woman was in the middle of her prayer. There was nothing to steal in her place. When he was about to leave the place, the woman had just finished her prayer. When she saw that the thief couldn’t find any thing to steal, she called out to him : Read the rest of this entry »

ON THE ASSERTION OF THE UNITY

He is One, and number has no place in Him; He is Absolute, and dependence is far removed from Him; not that One which reason and understanding can know, not that Absolute which sense and imagination can recognise. He is not multitude, nor paucity; one multiplied by one remains one. In duality is only evil and error; in singleness is never any fault.

While multitude and confusion remain in thy heart, say thou ‘One’ or ‘Two,’–what matter, for both are the same. Thou, the devil’s pasture, know for certain what, and how much, and why, and how! Have a care! His greatness comes not from multitude; His essence is above number and quality; the weak searcher may Read the rest of this entry »

Patience

The believer is one who has patience and who praises Allah

Reported by Abu Yahya Suhayb Ibn-i Sinan, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:

“The condition of the believer is worthy of envy and admiration, because every state they are in is a cause of benefaction. Such a quality is unique to the believer: When they are delighted, they praise and this is a benefaction; when they suffer harm, they show patience and this is also a benefaction.”

(Muslim, Zuhd 64)

Patience is potential power for the Muslim as it increases their resistance towards the difficulties of life. For the believer, it is the essential condition of victory and success; it is the source of energy and light. Read the rest of this entry »

The Hunter Learns Compassion from the Fawn

My love you, my grandchildren, my sons and daughters, my brothers and sisters. Have

you ever seen a baby deer? Let me tell you a story about a fawn and its mother. Please listen carefully. This story will show you the difference between the awareness of animals.

Once there was a man who liked to go hunting. He would go into the forest carrying a gun or a bow and arrow, and he would shoot deer, elk, and other animals. Like most hunters he enjoyed eating all the animals he killed, but he found deer meat especially tasty.

Now this man had been hunting, killing, and eating like this for most of his life. Then one day he came upon a deer giving milk to her fawn. This made him happy because he was tired, and he knew that the deer could not run away while her baby was nursing. So he shot her. But before dying, the deer cried, “O man, you have shot me. So go ahead and eat me, but do not harm my child! Let it live and go free!” Read the rest of this entry »
